I Spent 48 Hours With Nomads in the Sahara Desert
One year ago, we flew a complete stranger to Istanbul, Turkey for a hair transplant. After leaving the blue streets of Chefchaouen, we made our way deeper into Morocco toward Fez a city over 1,200 years old with thousands of streets twisting through one of the largest medieval cities in the world. What started as a simple road trip quickly turned into unexpected encounters, incredible hospitality, chaotic streets, and a side of Morocco I had never experienced before. First Impressions of Fez Morocco 🇲🇦
Almost 14 years ago, I visited Chefchaouen, Morocco’s famous Blue City, when I was just 19 years old. That trip had a huge impact on the way I viewed the world, but strangely, I barely remember the details of being here. So on this journey through Morocco, I returned to Chefchaouen to explore its blue streets again, compare the city to my memories from 2012, and see just how much this place and I have changed over the years. From getting lost in the winding blue alleyways and hiking into the mountains to meeting locals, trying Moroccan food, and experiencing Chefchaouen after dark, this city completely surprised me. What I remembered as a beautiful little mountain town has become something so much bigger, and somehow I walked away appreciating it even more than I did the first time.
